About Prāṇa Yoga Immersion
Beyond the practice of āsana lies a rich tradition of breath, energy, meditation, and philosophy that has shaped yoga for centuries. The Prāṇa Yoga Immersion is an invitation to explore these deeper dimensions through an integrated programme of practice and study rooted in the classical traditions of Haṭha Yoga and Tantra.
Over twelve immersive days in Mysore, participants engage in a carefully structured progression of prānāyāma, mudrā, bandha, chakra and kundalini kriyās, supported by the study of subtle anatomy and the philosophical teachings of Sāmkhya, Vedānta, the Yoga Sūtra, the Bhagavad Gitā, and Kashmir Shaivism. Each day’s practice builds upon the previous one, allowing understanding and experience to develop together.
Designed for sincere practitioners, yoga teachers, and dedicated seekers, the immersion offers an opportunity to move beyond techniques and cultivate a deeper appreciation of how breath, prāna, mind, and consciousness interact within the traditional yogic framework. Rather than pursuing extraordinary experiences, the emphasis is placed on steady practice, thoughtful inquiry, and inner transformation.
Whether you wish to enrich your personal practice, deepen your understanding of traditional yoga, or establish a stronger foundation for meditation and spiritual life, the Prāṇa Yoga Immersion provides a systematic and authentic path into the subtle science of prāna.
If you’re new to Prāṇa Yoga or would like to learn more about the philosophy, practices, and vision that underpin this immersion, I invite you to explore the Prāṇa Yoga page before continuing. It provides a broader introduction to the second anga of Trianga Yoga and the principles upon which this immersion is founded.

What You Will Experience During These Twelve Days
The Prāṇa Yoga Immersion is designed as a progressive journey rather than a collection of independent workshops. Each day’s practice and study build naturally upon the previous one, allowing understanding, experience, and confidence to develop together. As the body becomes more receptive and the breath more refined, the practices gradually introduce deeper dimensions of Haṭha Yoga and the subtle sciences of Tantra.
Throughout the immersion, each day is divided between practical sessions and philosophical study. The practices of prānāyāma, mudrā, bandha, chakra and kundalini kriyās are explored in a gradual and systematic manner, while the accompanying study provides the traditional framework through which these experiences may be understood and integrated. Rather than separating theory from practice, the two continually illuminate one another.
The immersion also encourages a more mature understanding of Kundalini and the subtle body. Instead of emphasising extraordinary experiences or sensational claims, the programme presents these teachings within the classical traditions of Haṭha Yoga and Tantra, where patient practice, discernment, and steady inner transformation are regarded as the true signs of progress.
By the end of the twelve days, participants will not simply have learnt a collection of techniques. They will have experienced a coherent approach to practice in which breath, prāna, philosophy, and meditation come together as complementary aspects of a single yogic path. This integrated understanding provides a strong foundation for continued practice long after the immersion has concluded.

Program Structure
The Prāṇa Yoga Immersion is founded upon the understanding that meaningful practice and meaningful study must evolve together. Each day combines experiential training with philosophical exploration, allowing participants not only to learn traditional yogic techniques but also to understand the principles that give them purpose and direction. Together, these two dimensions cultivate direct experience and intellectual clarity, creating an integrated approach to the study of Hatha Yoga, Tantra, and the path of Kundalini.

What You Will Learn
The Prāṇa Yoga Immersion is rooted in direct experience while cultivating a strong philosophical understanding of the principles that underpin the practices. Through daily practice, you’ll gradually develop the knowledge, sensitivity, and confidence needed to work with breath, prāna, and the subtle body. At the same time, the study of the major schools of Indian philosophy and the subtle sciences of Yoga and Tantra will deepen your appreciation of the purpose, context, and transformative potential of these practices.
Practical Skills
The practical sessions develop the skills, confidence, and sensitivity needed to work with breath, prāna, and the subtle body through the traditional disciplines of Hatha Yoga. Each practice is taught progressively and within its classical context, allowing you to understand not only how the techniques are performed, but also when, why, and for what purpose they are applied. Through regular guided practice, you’ll cultivate a safe, systematic, and sustainable approach that can be integrated into your own personal sādhanā.
Nādis, Vāyus, Chakras & Kundalini
This module introduces the traditional understanding of the subtle body as described in Hatha Yoga and Tantra. You’ll explore the concepts of nādis, vāyus, chakras, and kundalini, and how they provide a framework for understanding the movement of prāna within the body. The emphasis is placed on the classical teachings rather than modern interpretations, helping you appreciate how these models support the practices of prānāyāma, mudrās, bandhas, meditation, and kundalini kriyās.
Sāmkhya Philosophy
Sāmkhya provides the philosophical foundation upon which much of Classical Yoga and Tantra are built. You’ll explore its understanding of Purusha and Prakriti, the evolution of manifestation through the twenty-five tattvas, and the psychology of the three gunas. These teachings offer a practical framework for understanding the nature of the mind, human experience, and the purpose of yogic practice.
Yoga Sutra
The Yoga Sutra of Patanjali presents a systematic path for understanding and refining the mind. This module explores key concepts such as chitta, vritti, klesha, abhyāsa, vairāgya, and Ishvara Pranidhāna, together with the broader framework of Ashtanga Yoga. Rather than treating the text as philosophy alone, you’ll discover how its teachings continue to guide the practical disciplines of Hatha Yoga, meditation, and inner transformation.
Advaita Vedānta
Advaita Vedānta explores the non-dual nature of reality and the essential identity of the individual Self with universal consciousness. Through selected teachings from the Upanishads and the Vedantic tradition, you’ll examine concepts such as Brahman, Ātman, māyā, and self-enquiry, developing a deeper understanding of the ultimate goal toward which all yogic practice is directed.
Bhagavad Gitā
This module introduces the Bhagavad Gitā through the symbolic dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna. It explores Arjuna’s crisis as a metaphor for the challenges encountered at the beginning of the spiritual journey, together with key teachings on the nature of the Ātma and the path of Dhyāna Yoga, providing a philosophical foundation for the practices of Prāṇa Yoga.
Tantra & Kashmir Shaivism
This module introduces the non-dual vision of Tantra, with particular emphasis on the philosophical tradition of Kashmir Shaivism. You’ll explore how Tantra understands consciousness, energy, manifestation, and spiritual evolution, and how these teachings provide a coherent framework for practices such as mantra, chakra sādhanā, and kundalini. The emphasis is placed on the philosophical depth of Tantra, helping to distinguish its classical teachings from many popular misconceptions.

What You’ll Take Away
By the end of the Prāṇa Yoga Immersion, you’ll leave with far more than a collection of techniques or philosophical ideas. Through the sustained practice of prānāyāma, mudrās, bandhas, chakra kriyās, and kundalini kriyās, together with the study of the classical yogic and tantric traditions, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the relationship between breath, prāna, mind, and consciousness. More importantly, you’ll gain the confidence and clarity to continue your practice with greater purpose and discernment, supported by an integrated perspective in which the practical disciplines of Hatha Yoga, the wisdom of Tantra, and the insights of the classical philosophical traditions come together to guide your ongoing journey of inner transformation.
